It took a while, but it’s finally flying high and proud! The splash of bright pink looks great on Walnut Street. I just wish I could’ve ironed it before they hung it up there… but I’m guessing the wind will workout all the wrinkles

We’re hosting a TrunkSale starting today, May 25! The HD Summer 2011 line is soooooo pretty! I’m loving the colors. I could only find HD in NYC boutiques and select department stores in KoP. UGH!! But, for a few days, the entire line will be here at the salon YAY! Artists SMACK BACK! ARBP Event 4/21

I stumbled upon the Artistic Rebuttal Book project a couple of months ago — BRAVO Amy! BRA-VO. That’s what I told her.
“Art is, like, the most worthless degree anyone can get. Like, haha, they have a degree in making shit with popsicle sticks” is the statement Amy overheard. Sure she wanted to shake these kids silly. Scream and shriek at the madness of this RIDICULOUS statement. But, alas she got off the subway and funneled her energies through the passions of her life, creating and supporting ART. And so, the ARBP was born. A call to action for artists near and far to create artistic rebuttals against this blasphemous statement. The artistic rebuttals will be compiled into a book, ah-hem hence the name the Artistic Rebuttal Book Project *wink*, each page dedicated to a single artistic rebuttal.
It’s pretty wild to see these artistic responses from over 50 cities across the nation and some worldwide. COME support the Opening Night Exhibition-Celebration-Fundraiser HappyHour Event Thursday, April 21. I’m super excited to host this event and support the ARBP.

Art is essential. Anytime I am exposed to heart and passion translated into creativity, an idea, a decision, courage/strength — it gives me chills. I champion that. And for me, art is a tangible expression of that awesomeness. Sure not every piece of artwork moves me, but that’s not the point. And, to Mr.Subway-Dude-Dork, I happen to LIKE popsicle stick artwork! It makes me happy and reminds me of goofier times.

I often get asked, after moving the salon to Walnut Street, “So.. anju… what are you gonna do with all this S P A C E ?!” Well my friends, I’m going to share it.
Wink is the space within anjuthreads dedicated to sharing the passions and giggles of our lives. Since opening the salon in August 2008, I’ve learned that our clients (yes, you) are involved in some really awesome stuff. It tickles me. The imagination, excitement, heart and silliness of these fragments should be shared. There are no boundaries in this space — arts, music, non-profits, fashion, food, wellness… Hopefully you’ll come across something you enjoy!
Ps.Wink is the blog where features will be announced along with any other must-shares.
Not to worry, THREADING will always be the main focus of the salon. And yes, the possibility of offering additional spa services is very real, it will just take a little time. It’s going to be fun watching this new space evolve!
